Saudi Ambassador Confirms Continued and Expanded Humanitarian Aid to Sudan
Port Sudan – May 12
Lieutenant General Al-Sadiq Ismail, Advisor to the Sovereign Council for Organizations and Humanitarian Affairs, met with Ali bin Hassan Jafar, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Sudan, accompanied by Nasser bin Mutlaq Al-Subaie, Assistant Director of the Emergency Relief Department at the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, and a delegation from the King Salman Center to discuss the humanitarian and relief support efforts provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Sudan through the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center.
The Sovereign Council advisor praised the significant humanitarian role played by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, commending its ongoing contributions to supporting various humanitarian sectors, particularly in the areas of emergency relief, healthcare, water projects, and combating desertification, as well as its support for displaced persons and refugees in a number of Sudanese states.
For his part, the Saudi ambassador affirmed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s continued commitment to sustaining and expanding the scope of humanitarian aid provided to the Sudanese people, within the framework of the growing bilateral relations between the two countries, noting that humanitarian support programs will be expanded in the coming period in line with the increasing humanitarian needs in Sudan.
Al-Subaie explained that Saudi humanitarian aid covers various states in Sudan, including the regions most affected by the humanitarian situation, particularly the Darfur region, in coordination with the Sudanese government and a number of international organizations, including the World Food Programme, the World Health Organization, the United Nations Children’s Fund, and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.
The Saudi ambassador reiterated his country’s support for the Sudanese people and its commitment to strengthening humanitarian efforts.
