Sovereign Council Advisor for Organizational and Humanitarian Affairs Meets with the Country Director of the World Food Program
The Sovereign Council’s Advisor for Organizational and Humanitarian Affairs, Lieutenant General Al-Sadiq Ismail Mahmoud, met with the World Food Program’s Country Director in Sudan, Mr. Abdullah Al-Wardat, to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation between the two sides in the humanitarian and relief sectors. The meeting addressed mechanisms for developing the existing partnership to ensure greater efficiency in humanitarian response and accelerate the delivery of aid to the most vulnerable populations across the country’s various states. Lieutenant General Al-Sadiq Ismail praised the humanitarian role played by the World Food Programme, emphasizing the Sudanese government’s commitment and ongoing efforts to facilitate humanitarian work and meet the growing needs of its citizens. For his part, Mr. Abdullah Al-Wardat emphasized the importance of coordinating joint efforts and increasing the level of comprehensive cooperation between the WFP and the Sudanese government—including all its institutions—as well as organizations active in the humanitarian field, thereby enhancing the effectiveness of programs and projects implemented on the ground.
