Sovereign Council Advisor and Governor of West Kordofan State Discuss Strengthening Humanitarian Support for Displaced Persons and Host Communities

Khartoum: August 13 As part of efforts to monitor the humanitarian situation and the consequences of the recent waves of displacement, Lt. Gen. Al-Sadiq Ismail, Advisor to the Sovereign Council on Organizations and Humanitarian Affairs, met at his office with Maj. Gen. (Ret.) Hamid Hamad Tirab, Governor of West Kordofan State, at his office to discuss mechanisms and measures to provide relief to those affected by the current circumstances. The meeting focused primarily on discussing ways to support and strengthen humanitarian efforts for citizens displaced from West Kordofan State, who have been dispersed across several regions of the country in general and North Kordofan State in particular, as well as other states throughout the country. During the meeting, Lieutenant General Al-Sadiq Ismail welcomed the governor and outlined practical plans and strategies to ensure an effective response to the needs of the displaced persons. The Sovereign Council Advisor emphasized the importance of providing dual support—encompassing both the displaced persons and their families, on the one hand, and the host communities, on the other—to ensure the stability of basic services and alleviate the pressure resulting from the displacement crisis. For his part, Major General (Ret.) Hamid Hamad Tirab expressed his deep gratitude and appreciation to the Advisory Office of the Sovereign Council, commending the great and ongoing attention it has shown toward humanitarian issues and its follow-up on the concerns of those affected. The governor praised the pivotal role played by the Advisory Office in overcoming administrative and logistical obstacles faced by international and local organizations working in the relief sector, thereby helping to expedite the flow of aid and provide essential supplies to all displaced persons and those affected by the crisis.
